The adjacent building was destined to house Ms. Braun commercial offices and was constructed after the mansion was finished. As the palace was bought by the Union Club, this property was divided into offices and commercial stores for rent. In 1992, the club arranged a lease contract with the firm José Nogueira Tourism & Hotel Co., with the aim of recycling and restoring the building to be used as a classic hotel.
Preserving its character of architectural heritage in every façade and renewing its interior spaces completely, the basement was taken advantage of and so was the large attic, thus making, together with the palace premises, four floors spacious enough for 22 comfortable rooms.
The present entrance to the hotel was previously the gate for carriages to enter the patio of Ms. Sara’s house. The restoring was in charge of architects Danilo Fernández Radich and Dante Baeriswyl Rada.
